You can access our web site home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data.  If you choose to link to an email support person, you will be giving permission for disclosure of your email address only.  Any further disclosure of personal information will be at your discretion and will not be considered under the auspices of this website.

We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals while viewing our website.  We do not collect any personal data from our visitors when they view our website.  We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations.

The only use of cookies on our web site is in the Forums section.  It is not mandatory that you participate in the forums in order to utilize the rest of this website.  To acquire membership in the Forums section, you will need to disclose your email address and cancer diagnosis to the administrators of this website.  This information is not shared with other members of the forums, unless you voluntarily choose to do so.  Your profile information (ie: nickname, diagnosis) is viewable by the general public, except for your private validation information. This is done intentionally to people find others with their rare cancer. Any personal data that you share in the Forums section will be accessible by others within that forum.  This disclosure of information will be strictly voluntary.

This website is a compilation of general information and links to other websites, including support organizations, affiliate businesses, and government agencies.  The privacy policy of this website applies to the Rare Cancer Alliance web pages only.  When you click on an icon or link that takes you out of the Rare Cancer Alliance domain and into another website or web page; that website's privacy policy will apply.

IP Addresses and Log File Data

We log IP address, which is the location of your computer or network on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes, only. There is no personal identifiable information collected in our log files. We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals while you are merely viewing our website.

Collection and Use of Children's Personal Information

Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13, and we have designed our sites to block our knowing acceptance of information from children under 13 whenever age-related information is requested.
