diagnostic date

I just wandered how people decide exactly when the were diagnosed

I went on 6-14-11 to the doctors for Hemorrhoids ( I thought) and was sent home with a anti-itch cream

I demanded to come back asap and see another doctor who did an in office surgery on 6-21-11
results on the 28th that they had found cancer on top of a condyloma

Another surgery on 7-7-11 to remove all remaining tissue they didn't get to confirm whether it also had cancer on the edges or bottom.
I got that results on 7-12-11 and was told it also had cancer and I now need to see an Oncologist. - that was the day that my life changed!

Would my date be 6-28? or 7-12?


How did everyone else decide on their date?

Most people would pick the first date that they confirm there is cancer ,I would think.
